Mary-Anne Bach Barrel Racing Clinic

Mary-Anne Bach will be teaching a two day barrel clinic at Lucky Break Ranch on May 15-16, 2022.   

This clinic will be a straightforward easy to understand format and will give you tools to improve your horsemanship and progress in your barrel racing training.

Arena and Round Pen open for use before and after clinic hours

Mary-Anne has attended many barrel racing clinics taught by people like Jim and Elaine Hyde ( Elaine being a multiple Canadian and Manitoba barrel racing champion), Molly Powell ( Multiple NFR Finalist), Sherry Lynn Johnson (Multiple NFR Finalist), Lynette Brodoway ( CFR Finalist, Multiple Barrel Racing Futurity and Derby Champion, American Semi-finalist, multiple rodeo winner) and Ryan Lovendahl (Top Futurity rider/trainer and trainer of NFR qualifying horses).    Mary-Anne credits her approach to barrel racing and training barrel horses from attending clinics with Jim and Elaine Hyde and spending time at their ranch in Saskatchewan. She also draws a lot of knowledge from many reining lessons over the years.  She is a big believer in getting your horse broke and responsive to run a good set of barrels.  Past participants have really loved these clinics and find that she spends enough individual time with each person to achieve noticeable improvement. 

This clinic will cover basic horsemanship, exercises required to develop your barrel horse and pattern work. Some pole bending instruction can also be programmed. Participant should be able to confidently walk, trot, lope, stop and back their horse and understand basic horsemanship terms. Come join us and advance your horse and riding to develop a performance horse and enjoy barrel racing! A suitable horse should w/t/l and stop/back up and be comfortable riding in a group.  You don’t need to be a barrel racer to enjoy this clinic.    

She owns Dream Chaser Ranch – which was home to one of Manitoba's most well known stallions Smokes Remedy – APHA barrel racing stallion - and breeds paint performance horses. Many of you know who she is and have seen her and her pretty paints winning at rodeos and other barrel racing events. Some of her accomplishments include: Multiple Canadian Western Horse Association Barrel Racing and Pole Bending Championships and Hi-Point Senior Rider on a variety of different horses Two Time Canadian Western Horse Association Finals Barrel Racing Champion and Saddle Winner  (There were only two CWHA Finals) 2011 APHA World Show in Fort Worth, Texas - Top 5 in 6 events (Open and Amateur Pole Bending, Barrel Racing and Stakes Race)  Rodeo Winner Multiple Top 10 Heartland Rodeo Finalist Multiple Top 10 Northern Lights Barrel Racing Derby Finalist 2014 and 2016 Heartland Rodeo Season Leader in Ladies Barrel Racing 2014 and 2016 Heartland Rodeo Finals Champion in Ladies Barrel Racing 2018 Heartland Rodeo Association Season Reserve Champion ( Tied for points with lead)  2019 Rocking W Fall Finale 1D Saddle Winner Multiple Manitoba Barrel Racing Association jackpot wins. Many of these awards were achieved on horses bred and raised by herself at Dream Chaser Ranch. Dream Chaser Ranch horses are selling to competitors in other provinces and also to the US. A 2012 DCR bred stallion was the 2016 APHA Reserve World Champion Pole Bending Horse at the age of 4 and became a two time World CHampion in pole bending last year.
